PresidentI have been part of the Collingwood All Stars family since 2012 when my son first started playing Mini ball. The real strength of the Collingwood All Stars Basketball Club is that it is inner city Club providing more than just a sporting pathway for a diverse range of kids. I look forward to serving on a Committee full of people that are clearly committed to developing the Club and creating opportunities for all of its members.

Georgia Johnson
Vice-PresidentMy family and I have been involved with the Collingwood Basketball Club since 2010, firstly with my son who played Domestic, Rep. and Big V Basketball and now with my daughter who is currently playing Domestic and Rep. Basketball. What has drawn me to the club is the energy, passion, compassion and dedication of the staff, committee, coaches, players and parents of this club. I feel so fortunate to be part of this dynamic and diverse inner-city club. The club and all that are involved have given my children a sense of community and pride to be part of this club. They have learnt so much at the All Stars – team work, work ethic, respect, humility, and how to cheer on a Collingwood Basketball team (loudly), all of this whilst making great friendships and enjoying their basketball. I look forward to my time working on the committee, and hope that I can help the club continue to be great to so many in the future.

SecretaryHaving dabbled in sport in my youth, my love of basketball is strong. I’ve two girls who have come up through the Aussie Hoops and mini-ball ranks and are currently playing domestic. Professionally my career is in federal government and I’ve skills in change management, communication, governance, and project management. I joined the committee at the beginning of 2020, which is a year none of us will forget. Working as part of a dedicated and professional committee of management steering the club through the pandemic has been an honour. This, coupled with the acquisition of the beautiful new club stadium we call home, marks an exciting time to be part of the next club’s next chapter. It is the game that brings us together but the community that binds us.

RegistrarI have been involved in the club since 2010, and have twin boys in domestic and representative teams during this time. The benefit of sport, and team sports in particular is undeniable – however the welcoming and inclusive feeling that is pervasive throughout Collingwood is an added dimension to this. I have always been impressed with what the club manages to deliver and achieve with limited resources and compromised facilities. The future is very bright for the Collingwood and I hope to be able to help assist deliver it during my time on the Committee.

General CommitteeI have been involved with Collingwood All Stars as a manager, coach & supporter of teams that my son, Sam has played with since 2014. The management & the committees of the past have done an amazing job. Collingwood All-Stars is a diverse, unique, thriving, crucial basketball community & I am excited at the prospect of being involved at the committee level. The stadium will be a home to the excitement of the future. In the working week, I am the State Championships Officer at School Sport Victoria in the Department of Education & Training, where I have had 20+ years involvement in a range of roles including responsibility for the SSV Team Vic State Basketball Under 18 & Under 12 Boys & Girls teams for over a decade, organising the School Sport Australia National Basketball Championships & as the General Manager of the Team Vic Basketball teams at the Pacific School Games. I hope to be able to help the club during my time on the Committee.

General CommitteeI’m thrilled to join the Collingwood Basketball committee and to be part of a club that offers the community so much more than the opportunity to play the beautiful sport of basketball. I’ve enjoyed basketball for many years, from reporting a little on NBL and WNBL while covering sport for ABC News in the mid-1990s, to becoming a basketball mum in the All Stars Saturday domestic community. I have a background in communications, both in news and strategy, with a focus in recent years on recruiting, training and developing culturally and linguistically diverse teams and expanding workplace opportunities for women. I hope to contribute to the incredible work that Collingwood basketball is doing in these areas.

General CommitteeI am very excited to be joining the Collingwood All Stars Basketball Committee after a lifetime playing and supporting the sport of basketball. My family is relatively new to the club with my son in under 12s domestic and representative teams and my daughter in J-League. After playing at Bulleen for most of my junior years, it is a pleasure to join a community club based on inclusivity, equity and quality basketball for all its players. I bring to the Committee a professional background in community, leadership and youth development with skills in strategy, program management and community engagement.

General CommitteeI have been a part of the Collingwood Basketball club for the last few years, with my eldest son playing Domestic & Rep and my second son just starting out in Aussie Hoops and I’m thrilled to now be joining the committee. Collingwood is so much more than just a basketball club, it’s an amazing community of diverse and wonderful children and families and a true testament to how sports can support and enrich all children’s lives.
When I’m not at the club (which lets face it, is everyday) I’m busy raising 4 young children, you’ll no doubt see them all running around the club causing chaos, and working at the big T! I’ve been with Telstra for almost 15 years after a few stints in the US for big Tech companies. I have a huge (and strange) passion for all things Tech and my current role is mainly in Investment and Financial Management for all Products and Tech in Telstra, with a special interest in future technologies (think Robotics, VR, Autonomous Vehicles).
I’m really looking forward to contributing to the committee and the club and bringing the future vision of the club to life.
